mr. jonathan eary

RANK: 2nd Degree Decided Black Belt

STARTED TAEKWONDO: 2003

INSTRUCTOR STATUS: Junior Certified

OTHER INTERESTS: Taekwondo

CLASS TIMES: Thursday 4:00-6:00

BIO: In 2003, my grandfather suggested that I begin Taekwondo lessons. After my first class with Mr. Lacy and Mr. Tonete, I was “hooked on Taekwondo.” I begged everyday to go to class and now I spend so much time at the school my family laughs that my mailing address should be changed!

Not only do I love taking class, I also enjoy teaching other students. As a Brown Belt, I joined the Storm Team and began assisting the instructors. In February 2006, as a First Degree Decided Black Belt, I tested and became an Instructor Trainee. I then tested and became a Junior Certified Instructor in August 2007.

If you enjoy Taekwondo, come to class often, work hard, and practice your forms and board breaking, you will succeed. Also, make sure you attend tournaments. I have attended both Regional and National Tournaments. Tournaments are fun because you get to meet people from other schools and sometimes, if you are lucky, you may leave carrying a huge trophy or wearing a medal! And, once you are a Black Belt, plan to attend Black Belt Camp during the summer. It is hard work but you will learn a lot and have a lot of fun as you learn!!
